Being Mommy #1

Image
Hi Guys. I hope everyone had a good week. Today I wanted to talk about mommy toddler stuff and the emotional roller coaster I've been on since moving to Washington State from Los Angeles on Nov. 15 2014. Since becoming a mother, I've gone through many stages of emotions (happiness, sadness, anger, frustration, joy, etc). There have been times where I would feel overwhelmed with the daily task of splitting my time with caring for my baby, work, and housework. I suffer from PTSD and anxiety so sometimes I can feel quite overwhelmed when I'm put into a stressful situation. During these moments where I felt completely submerged in my daily duties as a first time mom, wife and business owner, memories of my own mom would pop up in my mind and I again would feel the sadness and loneliness of not having a mom to run to. My mom and I have been on the outs since I was 14 and completely stopped communicating when I was 21. There is no chance of reconciliation in terms of how she fe...

Review: Revlon Cherries in the Snow Lipstick

Image
*Purchased by me* Hi Guys! I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving celebration. The Hubs, little Tot, and I had an awesome time gorging and hanging out with the family. Today I wanted to talk about the newest addition to my lipstick stash and that is Revlon's Cherries In The Snow. This iconic lipstick was first released in 1953 and it's original ad featured one of the world's first modeling icon, Dorian Leigh. Cherries In The Snow is part of Revlon's Super Lustrous line and falls under the "creme" category.  I wore this for the first time for Thanksgiving and immediately fell in love with it. A few words came to mind as soon as I applied it onto my lips; creamy, extremely pigmented, no weird makeup scent (I'm side eyeing you Maybelline!!) and bold! I love it so much. On me this looks like a bright but wearable Fuchsia. It does leave an even stain behind on the lips as it fades so no need to worry about the dreaded lined lips look when it is gone....

My favorite affordable 90's brown lip liners

Image
*Purchased by me* Hi Guys! Today I wanted to share with you my favorite MLBB(my lips but better)/browny type lip liners. The 90's matte brown lipstick look is totally on trend at the moment and celebrities such as Kylie Jenner have pushed it to the mainstream level. As soon as the youngest of the Kardashian/Jenner clan started showing up on red carpets and posting selfies on social media with that matte brown lip look, makeup lovers everywhere went crazy wanting to replicate the exact look. I went through my stash and pulled out 5 drugstore lip liners that will totally give you that 90's brown lip look without breaking the bank. First off is Milani Color Statement Lip Liner in the color All Natural. I love this line of lip liners because the formula is so smooth and easy to apply on the lips. I never have problems with these liners tugging or skipping on my lips during application. This is a pencil liner that you need to sharpen. Because of how creamy it is, it's eas...

A little about me.

Hello fellow makeup and beauty lovers. Welcome to my blog where I discuss monthly makeup/beauty favorites, recent beauty discoveries, product reviews, FOTD posts, food, life with a toddle(being a first time mom), and wifely hopes and dreams for the future. My name is Linda and I currently reside in sunny LA (primarily in the San Gabriel Valley). On top of my love for my amazing husband and spunky toddler daughter, makeup has always been a closet passion of mine. Since the age of 12, makeup was always a constant presence in my life due to growing up around a lot of females (mom and lots of aunts) but it wasn't until I discovered the beauty world of Youtube did I realize my true love and excitement for makeup. Makeup isn't a tool to hide insecurities behind. It is suppose to enhance your natural beauty while inspiring you to get creative. Thanks for reading and take care!
